“Living in the projects teaches you a lot. It teaches you how to be humble. It teaches you how to survive, and it teaches you how to appreciate the little things in life that so many take for granted.”
Frank Moran is a proud immigrant, a small business owner, a loving father, and a devoted public servant. He grew up in the Beacon Projects where he learned from his parents the importance of working hard and striving for your dreams. Working at Demoulas he met Wanda, his high school sweetheart, who he ended up marrying after graduating from the Greater Lawrence Technical School. His dedication to provide for his family led him to purchase his first home at 19 years old and later on owning his own real estate company. He is a life-long resident of Lawrence where he coached little league and raised his two children.
Seeking an interest to advocate for his community, in 2007, he ran and was elected to an At-Large Lawrence City Council seat where he served 3 terms, including 2 terms as President of the City Council. In 2012, Frank was first elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives quickly rising to the ranks of leadership by his 2nd term. Frank currently serves as the Chairman of the Personnel and Administration Committee where he oversees the day-to-day operations of the State House and maintains the State House’s internship program where he seeks to provide public service opportunities to youth of all backgrounds. As State Representative of the 17th Essex District he has championed legislation to support small businesses, addressing inequality issues, and to funding our underserved public schools.
